Do you know what it is to be buried alive?

To be smothered and smoldered, set on fire to keep you from infesting others.

Do you know what it is to be buried alive?

Isolated from love, simply out of the incapacity to reciprocate it properly.

Do you know what it is to be buried– Alive?

Drowning in struggle, grasping with every shallow breath to keep but a finger up over the surface.

Do you know what it is to be buried Alive?

To witness yourself sinking as everything you know slowly drifts itself away from you.

What is it about being buried alive that haunts us?

The qualities of an inescapable fated misfortune that binds us to our own attachments.

Hands clawing, fingernails scratching, the lid of the casket is sealed.

What is it about being buried alive that haunts us?

Drawing hard, and shallow breaths, only to realize that the hourglass has broken– The sand of time is lost.

What is it about being buried alive that haunts us?

Heart Still Beating,
