COVID-19 FOOD BANK DONATIONS

THE INDIVIDUAL IS THE SOURCE FOR CHANGE

OH CANADA! OUR GOVERNMENT WONT BE ABLE TO HELP EVERYBODY.

We all find ourselves in some pretty crazy times, I am sure that we can all agree.

Life is crazy, because life is unsafe, but, the beauty in life is how we choose to overcome our barriers in adversity for the good of ourselves and others.

It is the hard, difficult, and trying times like today, and the days to come that will contribute to our sweetest and most gratifying experiences because we can all choose to move, to grow, and to rise above these difficult, and uncertain times.

When it comes to it, our reflections of the past will be that much more empowering when we can look back down on our experiences of today from the top, in seeing where we have pulled ourselves up from.

BACK TO today, back to RIGHT NOW

A lot of people find themselves in some pretty frightening times because a lot of our worldly foundations have perceivably crumbled.

It can feel surreal, confusing, and outright scary, but as individuals, we have to be able to move ourselves through our biggest fears.

All of our lives have become chaotically disrupted without a doubt as most of us find ourselves coerced indoors.

Even still, in our social distance and self-isolation, we must face these hard-hitting questions within ourselves to learn for progress, betterment, and growth.

THE INDIVIDUAL IS THE SOURCE FOR CHANGE

G. Kourtesiotis, 2020.

i’VE HEARD WHAT THEY’RE SAYING, BUT our GOVERNMENT WONT BE ABLE TO HELP EVERYBODY.

That being said, a lot of people around the world are setup for some hurt right now, and in the following days, weeks, and months to come– in more ways than one!

I myself have just been layed off alongside hundreds of other locals, and people here on working visa alike… People from all sorts of occupations, and all walks of life.

But, this goes beyond them and me.

Here in Canada, just over the past week there have been over 500,000 people that have already applied for employment insurance compared to 27,000 for the same week last year.

there isn’t enough to go around

The stark reality is both that it wont be enough, and there isn’t enough to go around for everyone in the struggle of their own personal, familial, or business dynamic.

All of this uncertainty has caused a lot of panic and hysteria, and amidst all of this we see the stomach-churning over-consumption in the massive stockpiling of food, and the hoarding of other supplies like toilet paper.

BUT, FOR THOSE IN MORE DIRE NEED…

There are some people who wont be able to stockpile anything for more than a few days – if that – because of both the shortage in this immediate demand, and the looming financial hardships and pressures to come.

It is undeniable that the economy is down, and it will take more than just a good week or month to remedy this unravelling.

Sure, I have faith that our Canada will bounce back, but when? And as optimistic as hope is, it will be more of a grind than we anticipate as people still need to pay their bills, support their loved ones, and keep themselves healthy in the process.

At the end of the day, it’s going to be us as Canadians that will pull ourselves out of our own holes. But, remedying this economic snowball has to start now.

what is it going to cost you

More of your time and less from your wallet. Donate one dollar, donate one hundred, donate a meal to someone yourself, or lend someone a buck or two directly. It matters less of how or how much, and it matters more that you actually did something benevolent for someone else.

WE ALL HAVE THE CAPACITY FOR GREATNESS –IF, AND HOW WE CHOOSE IT.
